Say hi to our new People and Culture Coordinator, Marlene Rimmen
Yay! 2020 started with a new colleague joining our (growing) inQvation family. Her name is Marlene Rimmen, and she’s inQvation’s new People and Culture Coordinator. We’re so happy that she’s now an inQvator.
In this interview, you’ll get to know more about Marlene and her new role. And if you want to know what she does when she’s out of office and how many times she has watched the Danish tv-show Matador – this is the place to be!
#1: Welcome to our inQvation family. We’ve been looking forward to having you onboard – and to get to know you. Can you please tell us a few things about yourself?
My Name is Marlene Hillerup Rimmen. I’m 26 – turning 27 next month. I moved to Copenhagen in August last year together with my boyfriend, Jacob, after studying for 5 years in Aarhus, so I still feel like a newbie to the city. I have a Master’s Degree in Cultural History from Aarhus University but have been working with organizational development and HR using my understanding of how culture is formed, broken and changed.
#2: You are starting in a brand new position as ‘People & Culture Coordinator’ – what exactly is that about?
I’m here to make sure our awesome culture can thrive, and that we keep our innovation and high level of knowledge. My task is to create seamless processes and programs that minimize resources spent on administrative tasks and maximizes the employee experience. I’m also here to help with all people related questions and concerns within inQvation and our portfolio companies.
#3: What have you been working with previously?
The past year I have been working as Community Specialist at an IT start-up making recruitment easy through our online platform. Working with everything from strategy, culture, staffing jobs on the platform, workshops, user and client onboarding and support, salary etc. #startuplife to make the platform run as smooth as possible.
#4: What do you like to do on your days off?
I Stand Up Paddle and LOVE to be on the water. It’s just so relaxing and energizing at the same time. I hope to step up my game and learn how to paddle surf in 2020. I also like to explore the city and discover new areas, hidden corners and new places to eat. If I’m not exploring, you can find me at home binge-watching new series or movies.
#5: Any random facts you could share with us?
I watch Matador as a Christmas Calendar and have seen the show a total of eight times.
#6: This is the one-million-question: What do you look the most forward to being part of inQvation?
First of all, I’m looking forward to getting to know all the high skilled people in and around inQvation. Secondly, I look forward to working with People and Culture in a high-performance environment because it means we need to work hard to make sure the purpose of our work supports the entrepreneurs and not repress the entrepreneurship.
